Efficient Ground Transportation at Charles de Gaulle and Orly

AIRCAR, an ACI and IATA member, and a subsidiary of the TransdevGroup, today provides ground transportation for passengers and crew at Paris airports, Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly. In order to respond to standards of quality, AIRCAR and its subsidiary AEROPASS have under-taken an ISO 9001 certification compiled in June 2003.

Aircar organization and services Training program:

As part of our quality project, we have negotiated a training program adapted to our supervision/control requirements, including English language courses targeting our services linked to the air transport sector. All AIRCAR, AEROPASS and FLYBUS drivers have received dedicated training in order to maintain a high level of qualification for all staff members to be constantly informed and updated on changes in the field and platform regulations in force.

Training delivered in terms of:

  1. Security
  2. Safety
  3. Driving
Services offered

Crew transportation by AIRCAR Nearly 40 airlines, including major companies such as AirFrance, British Airways, Alitalia, Varig, Air India, TAM, SAA, Saudia Airlines, Thai, Lan Chile, ANA, UPS, and Vietnam Airlines currently rely on AIRCAR to serve their 800 daily flights on time. Every day 80 coaches (from 10 to50 seats) and several small vehicles (fewer than 10 seats) ensure several hundred crew transfers between hotels or airline operation centres and their planes

Passenger transportation by AEROPASS Every day AEROPASS, AIR-CAR’s subsidiary in charge of ground transportation for AirFrance passengers, as well as for 32 airlines assisted by Air France at Roissy CDG 2, with its 103 buses including 30 brand new Cobus and 13 mobile lounges, operates 800 round trips, serving 400 flights, transporting more than 40,000 passengers airside. With today’s growth in air traffic and the increasing number of HUBS concentrated in CDG 2, AEROPASS is effectively responding to the needs of airlines with:

  1. Passenger transfer by bus or mobile-lounge between terminals and planes parked on a remote parking

  2. Transport of passengers in transit within the restricted customs area to the five CDG 2 Terminals.

AEROPASS has established a dedicated structure serving the Aviation Industry with:

  1. 216 drivers, 14 dispatchers, 2 mechanics, 22 supervisors and operation assistant managers, and trained management

  2. A fleet of new buses maintained by a dedicated department with concern for a policy in terms of environment.

Passenger transportation by FLYBUS Every day FLYBUS, a joint AIR-CAR and MARMARA subsidiary incharge of ground transportation for passengers at Roissy CDG 1 & 3,with its 16 buses including 9 brand new Cobus 3000 and 2700 (the latest efficient airport buses manufactured by Contrac) make an average of 120 round trips, serving 60 flights, transporting more than 7,000 passengers airside.

Dispatch Centre

Allocation control rooms have been introduced, operating around the clock 7 days a week to ensure the high standard of service that AIRCAR, AEROPASS and FLY-BUS offer their customers. Equipped with systems recognized by all air transport operators such as separate TVM monitors, SITA, AEROPASS dispatchers today manage unpredictable disruptions and irregularities of realtime operations.High performance software tools and other means have been implemented in order to provide a high level of efficiency and service to customers. Among these are:

  1. A powerful private radio system ensuring direct communication with all drivers.

  2. A sophisticated IT resource allocation and management tool developed to ensure the realtime allocation of staff and equipment, and realtime tracking of all vehicles.

  3. Upgrading of data transmission via the DATAsystem and the installation of onboard units in buses.

These and other sophisticated technologies will also enable AIR-CAR to face future challenges of continuously growing air traffic and to support its customers in successfully dealing with increasing competition in the aviation industry.
